Update on Transforming Worship Initiative

May 4, 2008

Transforming worship is one of the seven initiatives that was unveiled at Bethel's 50th Anniversary Celebration on March 16, 2008. Our overall goal isn't simply to change our schedule or enliven our services but to create a worship environment that fosters transformed lives in Jesus Christ. In short, we think of the word "transforming" both as a verb and an adjective.

To this end, we have brought together a diverse group of individuals to serve on Bethel's Transforming Worship Initiative Task Force. This task force has been working diligently to accomplish five specific goals:

  1. Create a comprehensive snapshot of Bethel's current worship life
  2. Discover how other local churches are structuring their worship environments
  3. Discern and dream where God is leading Bethel's worship life in the future
  4. Make specific recommendations for transforming the logistics and style of Bethel's worship environment by June 30, 2008
  5. Serve as congregational ambassadors as these specific recommendations are discussed, approved and implemented in the Fall of 2008

We need your help to accomplish these aggressive goals. We invite you to complete a short worship survey that includes both general questions on "worship satisfaction" and specific questions concerning personal preferences. All surveys respondents will remain anonymous. Survey results will be compiled and publicized the week of May 12th.

You can complete the survey in one of two ways:

  1. Complete the online version by going to:
    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=1RNK4MEZQh_2bXfcTPBpButw_3d_3d[Offsite Link]
  2. Complete a "paper version" and return it one of the pastors or drop it off in the church office by Sunday, May 11th. The paper version can be downloaded[PDF Document] or picked up at the welcome center in the entryway of the sanctuary.

Thank you for your help. Praise God for the opportunity to worship!
