On July 10, each person will bring their hobby to share with the group. Moving from ageing to Sageing. Evergreens is a part of the Senior Ministry at Bethel Lutheran Church which is being modeled on the Shepherd Center's mission that seeks to enrich the later years of our members and members of our community for deeper spiritual connections with opportunities which provide service to others, self expression, meaningful work and close friendships. We hope to be good stewards of this wonderful gift of life God has given us in all of its dimensions, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Life Maintenance programs are practical services that enable older persons to safely remain in their homes while growing more frail. Typical services include arranging transportation, telephone reassurance, Stephen Ministry and pastoral calls. Life recognition offers specific kinds of sessions that help persons grapple with life changes, personal growth and developing skills to handle the changes that occur. These include a variety of health-education and preventive health-care programs. Questions are raised about life's meaning. Persons are encouraged to find meaning by helping others in various ways from volunteer roles to new career paths.
