Bethel's First Communion Class is designed specifically for anyone who is ready to begin receiving Holy Communion and desires "basic training." The timing is such that your child could complete the First Communion Class on March 28th and then receive his/her first communion on either Palm Sunday (April 4th, communion offered at 8:30) or Easter Sunday (April 11th, communion offered at all services). One or both parents are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend both sessions. The reason for this is simple: we want you to be able to answer your child's inevitable questions about Holy Communion when you get in the car for the ride home from the classes. To register, please e-mail Pastor Rick at pastorrick@bethelcupertino.org or call Pam at the Bethel church office at 252-8500. Should My Child Attend?: Please note that there is no "age requirement" for this class. If you're wondering if your child is ready, simply ask them if they know Jesus and if they know they need him in their life. If the answer comes back "yes" to both questions and you, as parents, feel comfortable, then your child is encouraged to participate. You don't have to be a member of Bethel or any other Lutheran church to participate.
