Join the group in reading and discussing “The Mercies” by Kiran Millwood Hargrave. The story begins in Finnmark, Norway 1617 where the women had to fend for themselves after their husbands and brothers were lost at sea. A few years later a visitor came to the island and stayed bent on ridding the island of witches. The story was inspired by the Vardo Storm in 1617 and the Vardo witchcraft trials in 1640. Everyone is welcome.
