Aloha, friends! It’s summertime, so get out your tropical attire and and join us for a Tiki trek to some of San Francisco’s most iconic Tiki bars. We will start with some tropical food at Lost Resort, and then we’ll go on to drinking establishments like Zombie Village, Tonga Room and Last Rites, sampling Mai Tais, Zombie Killers and everything in between. We will share some tiki lore on the bus. This Out n’ About event is strictly for the 21+ crowd. River Float

LOCATION: Down the American River, near Rancho Cordova. We have been renting our gear from “American River Raft Rentals” for the past 50 years and are their longest running customer. We’ll be renting 6 person rafts plus one “dry (moist) boat” for food and some personal belongings. FOOD: Bring some $’s for food since we’ll stop for some snacks on the way up and back. You also need to bring a sack lunch and drink for our lunch stop along the river. WHO WILL BE THERE: Bethel’s Jr. High, Sr. High, and College age youth. SPONSORS: Tom Hoegel and a host of other adults TRANSPORTATION: We will be taking the church bus. COST: $40 per person (cash or check to Bethel Lutheran). Join us for an afternoon baseball game at Oracle Park in San Francisco to see the SF Giants beat the Detroit Tigers! We have 22 seats located in the View Reserve Infield section on the third deck, a little offset from home plate (see graphic). In addition to the game, there are fun activities scattered around the park. Check out the schedule below for more information. Waffles Amore Food Truck will be serving Chicken and Waffles and other assorted goodies in the back parking lot from 10:00am-1:00pm. Approximately $10 per serving. Labor Day Retreat

Bethel’s Labor Day Retreat is held annually every September at Mt. Cross[Offsite Link] Camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is a weekend for all ages to enjoy the great outdoors alongside one another. Activities include guest speakers, a variety show, campfire, the infamous Bethel Olympics, and much more. Small groups are formed twice a year. These groups meet at each others’ homes, restaurants, parks, etc. to enjoy fellowship and a meal with one another. It is a truly wonderful opportunity to have time to get to know one another over food and beverages—even those which we don’t serve on the Bethel campus.
