Mount Cross
General Information
Mt Cross Ministries is our Lutheran camp located in the Felton area of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is a joint operation of the Sierra Pacific Synod of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) and the California, Nevada, Hawaii District LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) serving both Lutherans and non-Lutherans within this service area.
Mt Cross offers numerous Lutheran based summer camp programs for children in 1st–12th grade, both on site at the camp in Felton or offsite at churches. In addition, several special programs are offered to youth throughout the year. Mt Cross is also a retreat center serving youth and adults at camp year round. Information about employment opportunities for young adults can be found online. For more information visit the Mount Cross website.
Note: Parents of school aged children are urged to sign children up early for summer camp as spots fill up as early as February or March.
Bethel Lutheran Church’s participation with Mt Cross
BLC in Cupertino holds its annual church retreat over Labor Day weekend at Mt Cross each year. Many parents and grandparents send their children to camp each summer. Various youth and adult groups occasionally use Mt Cross for a special program OR congregation members attend an event at the camp that is sponsored by another group. Finally, there have recently been a number of college students from Bethel who have worked at Mt Cross as summer counselors, musical presenters and program presenters.
Mt Cross’s Mission Statement is “Igniting passionate faith, equipping servant leaders, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” Make plans to visit Mt Cross today!
